TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

Life is a precious gift from God, when He was creating Man, He intended for him to exist in time. As we live, we have all been given "time." What we do with time depends on us, time is of the essence but its significance is based on how well we use it, the choice is ours. Although we have the privilege to choose what we ought to do with the time, we have been given by God, what is God telling us about time?

“Be careful! then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” (Ephesians 5:15-17, NIV)

This scripture sets the standard for how we should live our lives. The wise living is based on the understanding of the Lord’s will. If you miss God’s intention in creating you, you lose the essence of living entirely. We ask God questions we should be asking ourselves, especially when we make poor decisions or live foolishly and lose every opportunity because we do not want to understand the Lord’s will. Choosing not to understand God’s will for our lives is like telling Him we do not need Him and can walk alone. When things do not turn out as we wanted, we blame God, even though we did not involve Him in the first place. Let us live wisely by involving God in our lives.

“Life is too short” is a common phrase, it is authentic because we shall never live forever. Each of us has a lifespan, so it is crucial to use time wisely because our days in this world are numbered and evil. If used wisely, time brings joy, productivity, and satisfaction; if used foolishly, it brings regret.

We should emulate what Jesus Christ did during his life, He lived a life of purpose, fulfillment, commitment, productivity, dedication, impact, and wisdom. He lived by the rule, “Not my will, but let your will be done.” He is the greatest example of humanity in every aspect of life. Jesus accomplished everything he was supposed to within the time given by His Father in heaven, showing a true understanding of the Lord’s will. Today, many people strive to live longer, but what benefit is there if you live longer without impact? It is a blessing to live a long life, but it should be a life full of impact. Avoid losing opportunities by making the most of every chance to be productive. Seek direction from the Holy Spirit, avoid ignorance by having reverence for the Lord, and overcome procrastination by being assertive and precise in your actions.

It is never too late, as long as you are alive. Life is the best gift you have now, you have access to opportunities. In searching for and seizing those opportunities, we are warned to BE CAREFUL Because some opportunities might be traps leading to downfall, heartbreak, stress, depression or demotion. That is why we are advised to be WISE! Jesus Christ taught us a lot through His life; He made the most of every opportunity, never tolerating wasted time. Always remember productivity and achievement are not based on how long you live but rather on how well you manage your time. Living a life of fulfillment within the bounds of time requires discipline. The world today needs productive, creative, hardworking, and assertive people. People should remember you for something when you are alive or gone.

We live in the present and the future; let us not worry about what we did not do yesterday. Instead, let us focus on what we have to do today and tomorrow. God is not a time waster, and as creatures made in His likeness, He does not expect us to be time wasters. May you live a life of purpose, fulfillment, wisdom, and productivity. May God help you discover the intended purpose for which He created you so that you can make the most of every opportunity that comes your way. Wishing you a productive life as you live wisely by understanding the Lord’s will for your life.
